An alphabet song, a letter-sound song and a spelling song each offer a different way to play with letters. Start with something familiar—your child’s name, a favorite animal or a color they can point to.

Sing letter names
The ABC Song introduces the alphabet in sequence. Sing together, then choose one letter to look for on a book cover or toy. You do not have to practice the whole alphabet every time.
Connect letters with words
The Phonics Song pairs letters with familiar words, including apple, banana and cookie. Pause on a word your child knows and let them point, repeat or find an example nearby.
Explore short words
The Spelling Song includes DOG, CAT, RED and other short words. Say the letters together and draw a picture of the word. The online tracing game is a separate way to try the letter shapes with a finger or mouse.
Try a letter activity together
Pick the first letter of your child’s name. Say its name together, look for it in a book, then try tracing its dotted shape.
